No post about Italy or eating or shopping or restaurants or any other of the things I take for granted and report on. Just love and concern and worry about my friends and family in New York and other parts of the United States. Stay safe. Stay warm. And I hope to hear from you soon.

I hope you hear good tidings from them. I evacuated Cape May and while I don’t know the status of my home, my family is safe. As we await word that we can return, we’ll dream of food and Italy.

It’s very sweet to have your thoughts, Elizabeth! Writing from New York, it was certainly something many of us here haven’t seen before, which always raises the stress levels. Fortunately, most of us are OK, sans the power outages, fallen street signs, trees and flooding. Lower Manhattan has been hit worst on the island, with several buildings being evacuated. The saddest news of course has been that of NYU Hospital. Thanks so much all for your concerns.
