I hope you’re having a relaxing, lovely (snow- and rain-free? ) weekend. When I write up recipes during the week on my blog, I always imagine you trying them out when you have more time on Saturday or Sunday. Have you? Did they turn out ok? Did you add something of your own to the mix? If so, I’d love to hear about it.
And while I have your attention, could I ask a favor of you? Having lived in Rome for twenty some years I am always impressed by how spontaneously Elizabeth brings this city and its wonderful restaurants and markets back into my life. She gets it and is generous about sharing it with her readers. Idem for her travelogues outside the city to other destinations. Sometimes when I read about someone’s stay in a deluxe hotel I feel “Ah well thats not for me nor my pursestrings” but her account is always fun and completely satisfying and I feel no envy at a all.
This I think is a very special talent. And her writing is excellent and very engaging.

I always wonder, of course, about reporting on things like luxury hotels, and do in fact try to frame it in such a way that there is ALWAYS a takeaway for my readers. Whether it is a recipe, a decorating idea or even a suggestion to make it to the hotel for a meal or a cocktail. So your comment means so much to me since it shows I’m on the right track.
