hotel il san pietro {positano}

Hotel Il San Pietro Positano

I know I promised more about my stay at Hotel Il San Pietro in Positano. The problem is that  I’m a bit overwhelmed by the amount of photos I took, which of course lead to things I want to write about. So for now I’m just sending you a few (too many?)photos of the most beautiful moments during my two day stay. Don’t worry, there will be more coming about the food in the future, but for now, it’s just eye candy.

Things I particularly fell in love with:

-Rossinis arrived in my room minutes after I arrived. With a perfect plate of glistening strawberries.
-The pathway leading down to the beach, which wound its way down the cliff and past the terraced vegetable garden.
-The boat ride to the nearby islands of Li Galli, on the hotels boat which takes guests out every day at 11.
-The newly refurbished rooms with drop dead gorgeous fabrics and specially commissioned hand made tiles on the floors.
-Showers with views. I want one of those please.
-Bougainvillea winding its way through specially drilled holes so that it covered the ceiling inside of the entrance hall. How cool is that?
-And the views. The views. The views.

    Elizabeth,
I saw the outside if that hotel when I was in the Amalfi Coast last October. Our tour guide mentioned that one of the rooms had a waterfall in it. Do you know if this is true?

I didn’t see a room with a waterfall, but there is a room with a tree growing through the terrace. Is that close enough?

Never too many pics of Positano! I can’t tell you how many pictures I have from the same spot as your top pic – well, I could tell you but that would just be embarrassing!

I usually stick to Bellini when having cocktails on the terrace, but now I will try a Rossini when I am there next week! 🙂

    Buon lavoro!

I agree with Gillian, there are never too many pictures of Positano. Bring them on if you have more.

We just returned from Positano – we stayed at La Fenice, which was just a little less grand, but equally gorgeous, with stupendous views, and with the most wonderful family running the place. Can’t get enough of Positano. Love, love. love!!!!!

How very beautiful. You made my day, Elizabeth. This post of yours reminded me – did you ever get a bottle of Carthusia Aria di Capri for yourself? Oh how I love that perfume.

I stayed in that room with the bathtub by the window many years ago. The place is a dream. We have plans to return one day but so many other venues in Italy to choose from …..
